Doris V. (Honey) Visker

KENNEDY — Doris V. (Honey) Visker, 91, of 12491 Mud Creek Road, Kennedy, passed away, Thursday, March 22, 2018, at her home.

She was born July 4, 1926, in Millcreek Township, Erie, Pa., the daughter of the late Bennett V. and Eleanor V. (Will) Honey.

Doris was a graduate of Randolph Central School in 1943, and Jamestown Community College where she received an associate’s degree in banking. She started her banking career with the State Bank of Randolph where she was employed for 10 years. She was also employed by Chase Manhattan Bank from 1975-90 in Frewsburg as a Head Teller and Assistant Administrator. Doris was a volunteer at WCA Hospital in the ICU, house grandmother at DDSO homes, and a Sunday School Teacher at First Presbyterian Church in Jamestown.

She is survived by three sons: Thomas Visker Jr. of Randolph, David Visker of Palmer, AK, Harry Visker, Graham, WA; four daughters: Nancy Locke of Sterling, AK, Shirley Blakeley of Syracuse, N.Y., Janet Leidich of Randolph, N.Y., and Bonnie Smith of Binghamton, N.Y.; 17 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas G. Visker Sr., whom she married January 10, 1953, and died April 23, 2008; five brothers: William Honey, Richard Honey, Jack Honey, Raymond Honey, and Donald Honey.

Friends will be received at the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church St., Randolph, N.Y., from 1-2 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, 2018. Funeral services will immediately follow officiated by Randy Honey.
