Delores M. Bragg

Delores M. Bragg, 74, of Frewsburg, N.Y., went home to be with her Savior on March 6, 2018, at home, after battling cancer.

She was born in Toledo, Ohio on April 7, 1943, to George and Norma Cheney Anderson. She was the wife of 54 years to Alvin Bragg, whom she married Sept. 20, 1963. Delores had three children: Andrew (Bobbi) Bragg, Lora Lyn (Bob) Benson and Nathan Bragg. all residing in Frewsburg, N.Y. She has 10 grandchildren: Monica, Addison, Andrea, and Maddison Bragg, Philip and Joshua Benson, Erin Grimes, Krysten Berry and Ayla Bragg, all of the Frewsburg area and Noah Bragg who is serving in the U.S. Air Force in Utah. She also has 12 great- grandchildren.

Delores loved her family, and serving in the church. She had a heart for children and had taught Sunday school and was the director of the Christmas, Easter, and VBS programs for over 40 years at the Ivory Baptist Church. She had taught ladies bible studies, release time classes for bible club, was the president of the Ivory Cemetery Society and was active in the Jamestown Gideon’s. She had served as president of the Ivory Ladies Aid. She and her husband, Alvin had wintered in Word of Life Florida for the past 10 years and had served as short term missionaries in South Korea teaching English through the Bible. She was a Koinonian who attended K106. Delores had been a caretaker for 11 years for her mother-in- law, Evelene Bragg Quaintance, whom had made her home with them.

Delores was a 1961 graduate of Frewsburg Central School and was a secretary at Falconer Plate Glass before she was married. She had lived in Germany for a year while her husband served there in the U.S. Army. She was a “Proverbs 31” homemaker who enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and baking, camping, knitting, reading, decorating and traveling. Her home was always open to family, friends, missionaries and anyone else who needed a place to stay.

Delores was predeceased by her parents, George (1988) and Norma (2000); her brother, George Jr. in 2018; and a nephew, George Anderson III in 1991.

The funeral will be held at the Ivory Baptist Church, Frewsburg, N.Y., on Friday, March 9, 2018, at 1 p.m. Pastor Ron Lemon will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5- 8 p.m., Thursday, at the Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg. A Koinonian Amazing Grace Sing will be held at 7 p.m. during the visiting hours. Burial will be in the Ivory Cemetery, Frewsburg.
