A. Elaine Larson
A. Elaine Larson, 83, of 172 Ivory St., Frewsburg, passed away, Thursday (Mar. 1, 2018) at Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing.
She was born April 8, 1934, in Jamestown, the daughter of Stanley and Cora Walter Meleen.
Elaine had been employed as a bookkeeper for Marlin Rockwell Corp.
She was a life member of Frewsburg Legion post 556 Ladies Auxiliary, where she was past president, the 40&8 Society, a life member of the Jamestown Chapter NSDAR and the Knitting Guild Association. She had knitted hundreds of helmet liners for our military and was a painter of fine art.
Elaine is survived by her husband, Richard H. Larson whom she married July 1, 1955; five children: Karen Inwood of Jamestown, Keith (Anita) Larson of Peachtree City, Ga., Doreen (John) Cesari of Orchard Park, Lisa (Randall) Beckerink of Lakewood, and Pamela (Lee) Ostrom of Frewsburg; her grandchildren: Michael Hyer, Melissa Marshall, Michelle Schueler, Alex and Nathan Beckerink, Christopher, Bobbi Jo and Michael Ostrom, Amanda Cesari, Rachael Harhigh and Evelyn and Garrick Larson; 10 great-grandchildren: Mackenzie, Samantha, Owen, Lennix, Gabriella, Savannah, Olivia, Billie, Kohlin, and Hunter; a brother, Stanley Meleen Jr. of Sugar Grove, Pa.; and a sister, Elizabeth Intihar of Frewsburg.
She was predeceased by her parents; two grandchildren: Nicole and Andrew Ostrom; and a brother, John Meleen.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg. The Rev. Robert Benson pastor of Christ Lutheran Church will officiate. The NSDAR will conduct a service at 1:45 p.m. prior to the funeral service.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Frewsburg.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
