Thomas O. Mruk

Thomas O. Mruk, 76, of Largo, Fla., and Cassadaga, N.Y., formerly of Dunkirk, N.Y., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018, at Brooks Memorial Hospital, Dunkirk, N.Y. He was born July 6, 1941, to the late Henry and Josephine Scott Mruk in Pittsburgh, Pa.

He was a chief engineer for Erie County for many years. A veteran of the U.S. Navy from 1959-1962 and the Navy Reserves until 1965, he was a member of the American Legion Post #119 in Largo, Fla., as well as a member of the VFW in Seminole, Fla. His favorite pastimes included collecting cars, motorcycles, golfing, hunting, fishing and joke telling.

He was preceded in death by his brother, William Mruk of Largo, Fla. He is survived by his longtime companion Helen Runge of Cassadaga, N.Y., her sons, Jeffrey (Sheli) Runge of Sinclairville, N.Y., Trevor (Jennifer) Runge of Sinclairville, N.Y., and her six grandchildren Dylan Runge, Alex Runge, Jerrett Runge, Derrick Runge, Matthew Runge, Alea Runge and one great-grandchild, Rhett Runge, all of Sinclairville, N.Y.; as well as two nephew, Robert Mruk, Peter Mruk; and one niece, Jennifer Kieliszek.

Graveside services will be held at Casssadaga Cemetery, Wednesday Feb. 21, 2018, at 1 p.m. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by the Jordan Funeral Home, Sinclairville.
