Marian M. (Tina) Guiffreda
Marian M. (Tina) Guiffreda, 85, of Jamestown, N.Y., passed away Saturday, Feb. 3, at her daughter’s home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Family and friends will be received at Migliore Funeral Home, 415 E. Fourth St., Jamestown, N.Y., on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018. Viewing will be held from 2-5 p.m., with a service to follow.
Marian was born in Warren, Pa., on May 17, 1932.
She worked at GC Murphy’s for many years and then Don Gages till retirement.
Marian raised three wonderful children: Susie, Bob and Karen.
She was an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills.
She will always be remembered for her homemade spaghetti sauce and having the whole family get together at her home for dinners. Marian was kind and thoughtful, generous and loving. She was a “mom” to so many others and with her sense of humor and compassion, she was always there for everyone. She was recently asked what tidbit of wisdom she has for others. She responded with: “Be kind to everyone, never look down on anyone and be totally honest with your best friend.”
Marian is survived by her sister, Shirley (Wayne) Carlson of Jamestown, N.Y.; two daughters: Susie (Carl) Davis and Karen (Joe) Moynihan of Ashville N.Y. Marian has 11 grandchildren; 17 greatgrandchildren; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Marian is proceeded in death by her parents, Fredrick and Mildred (Farr) Gollnick; her brothers: Paul, Ronald and Dave Gollnick; a sister, Virginia Arnold; and Marian’s beloved son, Robert S. Guiffreda, who will be waiting for her in heaven.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Chautauqua County Hospice or the Robert S. Guiffreda Scholarship Fund, c/o Community Foundation, Jamestown, N.Y .
Marian’s family would like to thank Hospice of Chautauqua County for all their care and compassion during this journey with our family, their support and comfort was priceless.
