Lois May Nickerson

Lois May Nickerson, 76, of Fredonia, N.Y., passed away late Monday afternoon Feb. 5, 2018, at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk, N.Y., after a brief illness.

She was born in Ripley, N.Y. on Feb. 4, 1942, to the late Harold and Julia Lewis Leamer.

She had lived in this area most of her life and briefly in Florida at one time. She attended Brocton Central School, and was a homemaker for her family most of her life. She also had worked at the Fredonia Seed Co. of Fredonia, N.Y.

Lois was a former member of the Moose Club of Dunkirk, N.Y.

She is survived by three sons: Alton Nickerson of Erie Pa., John (Ann) Nickerson of Bemus Point, N.Y., and Eugene (Rachel) Nickerson of Cassadaga, N.Y.; one daughter, Julie Krystofiak of Fredonia, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren: Brianna Lasher, Alton Swartwood, Cody Swartwood, Dakota Swartwood, John Nickerson II, Lauren Nickerson, Mary Nickerson, Jacqueline Nickerson, Nicole Nickerson, Megan Nickerson, Steven Krystofiak, Jordan Krystofiak and Savanna Krystofiak; four great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren: Kelsey Luczkowiak, Sarah Luczkowiak and Devin Luczkowiak; and one brother, Howard Leamer of Erie Pa.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her companion, Richard Gunther; and one brother, Carl Leamer.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced by the Morse Funeral Home of Brocton, New York as soon as they become available.
