Jean R. Chase

FALCONER – Jean R. Chase, 88, of 309 E. Everett St., died Sunday morning, (Jan. 21, 2018) at the Lutheran Nursing Home.

An area resident most of her life, she was born Oct. 30, 1929, in Mt. Jewett, Pa., a daughter of the late C. Edward and Mabel Taylor. She graduated from Mt. Jewett High School and attended Jamestown Business College. In May 1950,, she married Frank B. Chase who died Dec. 31, 1995.

She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, volunteered at the resource center, enjoyed activities at the local senior center and was on the Falconer zoning and planning board.

Surviving are two sons: David and Carol Chase of Mentor, Ohio and Brian Chase of Jamestown, N.Y.: three daughters: Dianne Anderson of Taylors, S.C., Mrs. William (Sue) Gordon of New Cumberland Pa., and Mrs. Jeffrey (Laurie) Visosky of Barrington, N.H.; and 17 grandchildren: Mrs. Charles (Danelle) Welzig of Milwaukee, Wis., Kirsten Anderson of Charlotte, N.C., Matthew Chase of Willoughby, Ohio, Patrick Chase of Eastlake, Ohio, Michael Chase of S. Chinquapin, N.C., Mrs. Chris (Tammy) Russell, Air Force Base in London, Mrs. Kevin (Jennifer) Pick of Columbia, Md., Mr. Jason Piazza of Etters, Pa., Mrs. Joshua (Julie) Chiocco of Fairview, Pa., Mr. Justin Piazza of Enola, Pa., Mrs. Jason Herb of Lemoyne Pa., Mr. Richard Gordon of Southampton, Pa., Mrs. Aaron (Jamie) Pike of Falconer, N.Y., Nathan Bunker of Warren, Pa., Andrew Carr of Jamestown, N.Y., Mrs. Rob Gibson of San Antonio, Texas, and Shawna Roppolo of Shreveport, La.; 22 great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Richard T. Chase who died Dec. 25, 1994; and one sister, Kathryn Hayden.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m .Saturday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Pastor Timothy Hoyer of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Falconer.

Friends and family will be received from 6-8 p.m. Friday evening and 10-11 a.m., on Saturday morning in the funeral Home.
