Lyle W. Cochran

Lyle W. Cochran of 1610 TenHaken Road, Panama, N.Y., died Dec. 5, 2017, at St. Vincent Hospital, in Erie, Pa.

He was born in Hartfield, N.Y. on Aug. 1, 1940, the son of Everal W. Cochran and Lillian Bennink Cochran.

Lyle attended Clymer Central School. He worked on the family farm, worked dozer work with his father, worked as a mechanic for the Carlton Damcott Shop, and at John Wiggers and Sons, he was also Clymer highway superintendent for 16 years. Later he was an Amish taxi driver. He was a retired Clymer Fire Department Fire Police. He was also a member of the Olive Lodge, Sherman, N.Y.

Lyle was a hard working person. Although he didn’t belong to any church, he tried to live by the Golden Rule.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Laura Goodwill Cochran. They would have celebrated 56 years on Dec. 23, 2017; three daughters: Dianna (Cliff) Foster, Misty (Brian) Tucker and Larissa (Jeff) Enlow; a son, Kevin (Pauleen) Cochran; nine grandchildren: Tabitha (Greg) Maring, Brandon (Karen) Foster, Andrew Foster, Christopher and Stephen Enlow, Zane (Nichole) Tucker, Zoe, Shae and Zephren Cochran; eight great-grandchildren: Mason, Liberty Ella and Aurora Maring, Timothy, Tyler, Tanner and Taylor Foster; and by his sister, Elaine Jukes.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and also by a sister, Charlene Wiggers.

The Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6- 8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 8, 2017, at the Spitzer Funeral Home 8728 E. Main St., Clymer, N.Y.

The funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017. The Rev. Mike Beckerink will officiate. Burial will be in Clymer Center Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Clymer Fire Department, P.O. Box 31, Clymer, NY 14724, or a charity of ones choice.
