Joyce M. Tanner

Joyce M. Tanner, 81, of Jamestown, passed away Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017, at UPMC Chautauqua WCA.

She was born June 1, 1936, in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Einer and Edith Bergstrom Larson. She was a 1954 graduate of Cassadaga Valley Central School.

Joyce was employed as a floral designer for Roanoke Country Club and Stritesky’s Flower Shop, both of Roanoke, Va., from 1979 until her retirement in 1995.

She enjoyed visiting botanical gardens and growing roses. Joyce grew hybrid roses and was responsible for naming them.

Wife of 60 years to Ferdie Tanner, whom she married Dec. 28, 1957; mother of Keith G. (Resha) Tanner of W. Columbia, Texas, and Janelle J. Hoover of Clover, S.C.; grandmother of Sarah Hoover and Aaron and Ainslea Barber; sister of Dale (Lori) Larson of Ramona, Calif., and the late Allen and Charles Larson. Also survived by nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at noon on Wednesday in Jordan Funeral Home, Sinclairville, with two hours visitation prior to the service. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Jamestown.
