A. Joan Borstorff
A. Joan Borstorff, 88, of Jamestown, N.Y., passed away on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, at Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing, Greenhurst, N.Y.
She was born Jan. 2, 1929, in Jamestown, N.Y., the daughter of the late Ralph and Alzera Coan Case.
Joan was raised and educated in Jamestown and Pa-nama and graduated from Panama High School 1946. She enjoyed working for Lablaws and selling Avon. She was a member of The Jehovah’s Witnesses South Congregation and was baptized in 1970.
Joan enjoyed crossword puzzles, going door to door with her Bible, going to sales and shopping. She especially enjoyed going to Daytona Beach, Fla., with her husband each year for a month and visiting friends. Joan liked to travel to Rochester, N.Y., Willoughby, Ohio and Cleveland, Ohio, for Jehovah’s Witnesses Assemblies.
She is survived by a granddaughter, Rhonda Hultin; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William Borstorff, whom she married on Jan. 18, 1947, and who died in 2005; a son, Daniel Ralph Borstorff (2006); and two sisters: Vivian Case Berry and Shirley Fellows.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
