Charles Lawson, 90, born June 1, 1927, in Warren Pa., to Charles and Lilly Lawson. He died Tuesday, October 24, 2017, in Foley, Ala.
He served in the U.S. Army just after World War II in Germany. When he returned he married his childhood sweetheart, Doris Strickland in 1947.
They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on April 26, 2017, in Foley, Ala., attended by friends and family.
Charles owned and operated Star Refrigeration for 46 years. The business was incorporated in 1995 and renamed Star Tubing Corp. which specialized in tube fabrication. He retired at the age of 80 moving to Foley, Ala., where he volunteered at the Pensacola Air Museum restoring antique planes.
Surviving are his daughters, Sandra Johnson (Gary) Lakewood, N.Y., and Karen Johnson (William) of Ashville, N.Y. Three Grandchildren Jennifer Inashvili (George) of Santa Margarita, Calif., Charles Johnson (Marci) of Jamestown, N.Y., Jesse Johnson of Myrtle Beach, S.C., great grandchildren are Lilly, Matthew, and Anna Johnson of Jamestown, N.Y. He is also survived by his brothers Keith Lawson of Wheeling W.V., Boyd Lawson of Busti, N.Y., a sister Nancy Wingard of Hermitage, Pa., and many Nieces and Nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Doris and his parents Charles and Lilly Lawson of Hermitage, Pa., and his brother, Curtis Lawson of Elberta, Ala.
