Richard “Dick” Alfonso Crosby
Richard “Dick” Alfonso Crosby, son of Alton and Blanche Price Crosby passed from this life to his eternal home on Oct. 5, 2017.
He was born Nov. 12, 1926, in North Clymer, N.Y. He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Lorena Groters Crosby in July of 2017.
Surviving are his brother, Max T. (Sarah) Crosby of Sebring, Ohio; three children: Joan Bertram of Shorewood, Ill., Robert (Cheryl) Crosby of Naperville, Ill., and Russell (Deborah) Crosby of Lancaster, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Richard was a graduate of Panama Central School and served on the board of education for four years. He was an active member of Bear Lake EUB Church for most of his life, where he served as Sunday school teacher, trustee, and Church treasurer. He late joined the Panama United Methodist Church.
Richard was a dairy farmer and operated Panama Dairy Supply for 40 years. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving brother, father, grandfather and great- grandfather to his family.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017, at the North Clymer United Methodist Church, where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Dena Stevens, pastor of the church officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
