Franchesca Lynn Reed

Franchesca Lynn Reed, 25, of Boiling Springs, Pa., peacefully transitioned into eternal life on Wednesday Oct. 4, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Jamestown, N.Y., on Sept. 12, 1992, the loving daughter of Starlene A. Reed and Thomas A. Pillsbury of Boiling Springs, Pa.

Frany was a 2010 graduate of Boiling Springs High School and received her CNA certification in 2012 in Corry, Pa. She was a lover of all animals, especially cats. Frany was a talented story teller and could make everyone in the room laugh until they cried. She was loud with a passion for all types of music, playing it loud enough for the whole neighborhood to hear. She was never afraid to tell you what she was thinking but was a generous and caring person who had a special love for the very young and the elderly. Frany was always on the move and loved to be outdoors. She knew how to be the life of the party and was usually more than a little dramatic. She lived life (and played board games) by her own rules. She will be greatly missed by everyone with whom she crossed paths.

In addition to her mother and stepfather, Starlene Reed and Thomas Pillsbury, Frany is survived by her sister, Kayla Sheaffer wife of Matthew Sheaffer and her nephew, Nolan Sheaffer of Carlisle, Pa.; her maternal grandmother Alice Marsh of Panama, N.Y.; her paternal grandmother, Ethel Reed of Bear Lake, Pa.; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Frany was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Sherwood E. Marsh; her paternal grandfather, James E. Reed; her maternal great-grandmother, “Honey” Geraldine Simmes; and her maternal great-grandfather, Wayland “Bill” Simmes.

A private celebration of Frany’s life will be held at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions, in honor of Frany, can be made to the Cardiovascular Care Fund at St. Vincent Hospital on-line at or by mail to Allegheny Health Network, Office of Fund Development, 4818 Liberty Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15224.
