Floyd W. Proctor

Floyd W. Proctor, 85, of Lawson Road (Busti) Jamestown, N.Y., passed away at 9:20 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017, in his home surrounded by his loving family after battling Alzheimer’s for the last several years.

Born in Springcreek, Pa., on April 24, 1932, he was the son of the late Homer W. Proctor and Clara (Hilliaker) Mitchell. He grew up in Columbus, Pa., and also attended school in Columbus.

He served in the U.S. Navy. Before retirement, he was owner and operator of Floyd W. Proctor Enterprises for 35 years. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 170.

He will be remembered as a loving and caring hus-band, father and grandfather. He enjoyed being sur-rounded by his family, especially taking great joy in his precious great-grand babies these last few years. One of his favorite pastimes was joyriding down the old dirt roads in Pennsylvania, for many hours at a time.

Floyd was a former member of the Corry Moose, Lakewood American Legion, Jamestown Elks and Lakewood Rod and Gun Club.

Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Sylvia Proctor whom he married April 24, 1970; four daughters: Sheela (Ted) Kosinski of Lakewood, N.Y., Cinama (Rob) Proctor, Busti, N.Y., Debbie (Bill) Thompson of Jamestown, N.Y., and Theresa (Terrie) Larson of Busti, N.Y.; two sisters: Audrey Hamilton of Spartansburg, Pa., and Kay Elder of Chandlers Valley, Pa; one brother, Albert “Skid” (Mary Jane) Proctor of Lakewood, N.Y.; nine grandchildren: Nicole (Mike) Weaver of Panama, N.Y., Levi Mitchener of Falconer, N.Y., Katie (Scott) Weilacher of Busti, N.Y., Jim (Amy) Larson of Busti, N.Y., Dakota (Caty) Proctor-Burch of Clarendon, Pa., Charlynn and Lamonica Proctor-Burch of Busti, N.Y., Matthew and Thomas Kosinski of Lakewood, N.Y.; nine great- grandchildren: Collin Mitchener of Falconer, N.Y., Ashlynn and Norah Weaver of Panama, N.Y., Peyton and Ethan Weilach-er of Busti, N.Y., Conway and Hans Larson of Busti, N.Y., and Oakleigh and Braelyn Proctor-Burch of Clarendon, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca (Becky) Paloncy on Aug. 25, 1994; two sisters: Ann Hildum and Carol Hallgren; a grandaughter, Angel Nicole Paloncy; and a son-in-law, Dan Larson on June 14, 2017.

Friends will be received Tuesday 5-8 p.m., at McKinney Funeral Homes, 117 Main St., Sugar Grove, Pa., where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017. Graveside services will fol-low in Sunset Hill Cemetery Lakewood, N.Y.
