Jeanette M. Nord
Jeanette M. Nord, 96, formerly of Willard Street, Ext. and 165 Aldren Ave., passed away Tuesday (Sept. 12, 2017) in Winter Park Memorial Hospital, Winter Park, Fla.
She was born May 4, 1921 in Akron, N.Y., the daughter of the late Henry and Della Bedford Hart.
Jeanette was a graduate of Akron High School and Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Mich. She received a teaching certificate from the University of Buffalo and the Buffalo State University.
Prior to retirement, she was a highly regarded in-structor at Jamestown Business College for 38 years. Students said that she was strict but one of the best teachers at the school.
Jeanette was always interested in learning new things. She attended many seminars and classes in Jamestown. She enjoyed meeting new people and listening to their stories.
She attended Lighthouse Baptist Church in James-town.
Surviving is her daughter, Carole (Thomas) Gill of Winter Springs, Fla.; three grandchildren: Christopher (Esmeralda) Gill of San Antonio, Texas, Heath-er (Scott) Salvatoriello of Oviedo, Fla., and Scott Gill of Austin, Texas; eight great-grandchildren: Madison Salvatoriello, Brody Salvatoriello, Tristan Gill, Aniyah Gill, Jaxon Gill, Wyatt Salvatoriello, Roman Gill and Lincoln Gill.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Vernon W. Nord, whom she married Feb. 14, 1948, in Buffalo, and who died Oct. 23, 2003; and a brother, Charles Hart.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Lakewood, N.Y.
