Jane M. Flagg Anderson

RANDOLPH, N.Y. — Jane M. Flagg Anderson, 79, of Walker Road, Randolph, town of Conewango, passed away Sunday (Sept. 17, 2017) in UPMC Chautauqua WCA.

Mrs. Anderson was born March 5, 1938, in Randolph, the daughter of the late Edwin and Marian Davis Flagg.

Jane was a 1956 graduate of Randolph Central School and received her nurse’s aide certification training from Heritage Village.

Jane retired from the Randolph Manor as a nurse’s aide after 18 years of service and had previously worked as a bar tender and waitress at the Randolph American Legion Post 181. She enjoyed traveling and going on cruise lines, cooking, casino gambling and she had a passion for animals.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Dale Anderson, whom she married on Sept. 28, 1957, in the former Randolph Federated Church.

She is survived by two children: Sheila Carden and husband, Greg and Patrick Anderson and wife, Kristy and beloved granddaughter, Jenna Kay Anderson, all of Randolph.

She was additionally preceded in death by six siblings: Marvin and James Flagg, Mary Lecceadone, Irene Buck, Edna Harrington and Betty Bartlett.

The family will receive family and friends from 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017, in the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church St., Randolph, from where funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. The Rev. Michael Lonto, rector of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Salamanca, will officiate. Burial will be in the East Randolph Cemetery.
