Dwight D. Swanson

Dwight D. Swanson, 71, of 58 Institute St., Frewsburg, passed away Monday (Sept. 18, 2017) at his home.

He was born Dec. 2, 1945, in Jamestown, the son of Edmund and Lenora Willover Swanson.

Dwight was an auto body repairman. He had owned and operated a body shop and later was employed at Gary’s Car Star.

He had served in the Army Reserves for six years.

Dwight was a member of the First Baptist Church of Frewsburg where he was a former deacon.

He was an auto enthusiast.

Dwight is survived by his wife, Shelley Willis Swanson, whom he married Aug. 22, 1970, in Bemus Point; his children: Dean (Stacey) Swanson of Sinclairville, Autumn Swanson of Alamogordo, N.M., and Adam and Darren Swanson of Frewsburg; a granddaughter, Morgan Swanson; and a brother, Larry Swanson of Westfield.

He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers: Bruce and Rodney Swanson.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg.

The Rev. Nicholas Cultrara, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Frewsburg, and Dave Mizel will officiate.

Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Falconer.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
