Marian Colt, 90, of Stockton, N.Y., passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Aug. 11, 2017, at Westfield Memorial Hospital. The daughter of the late Arland and Hazel Dascomb Wilmarth, she was born in Portland, N.Y. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Roy C. Colt.
Her family includes children: Robin Terrill (Gary) Woodbury, Warren “Doc” (Jackie) Terrill, Carol “Molly” Colt, and the late Dennis (Gloria) Colt; grand-children Nathan (Michele) Terrill, Matthew (Chad) Terrill, Dennis Colt Jr., Brian (Abby) Colt, Kimberly (Curtis) Witherow, and Barbara Jean Rublee; great-grandchildren: Tyler (Kayla) Saunders, Zachary Saunders, Eric Witherow, and Kinsey Witherow; and great-great-grandson Gannon Saunders.
Marian is also survived by her brother, Robert “Buz” Wilmarth; nieces: Jody Wilmarth and Sandra Terrill; great-niece, Makayla Golem; and great-nephew, Ethan Golem. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by sisters: Margaret Sawkins and Jeanette Brooks.
Marian was a graduate of Brocton Central School and a long-time active member of Portland Congregational Church. She held several part-time jobs, but devoted her time to her family and church. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
Friends may call at the Morse Funeral Home, 51 Highland Ave., Brocton, N.Y., on Monday, Aug. 14 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Marian’s life will be celebrated at Portland Congregational Church, Church Street, on Tuesday, Aug. 15, at 10 a.m. The Rev. Gordon Spiller will officiate. Interment will follow at the Portland Evergreen Cemetery.
