David H. Greenough

SILVER CREEK — David H. Greenough, 61, of Burgess Street, Silver Creek, died peacefully Thursday, July 6, 2017, at his residence following a short illness with his family by his side. He was born in Victorville, CA, on Dec. 23, 1955, the son of the late Roger and Wilma (Wills) Greenough.

Mr. Greenough attended Forestville Central School and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He received the 101st Airborne Wings, Air Assault Wings, Army Achievement Medal, Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and National Defense Medal. Mr. Greenough worked as a Maintenance Man for the VA Hospital Erie, Pa. He was a ninth-degree Black Belt, having taught Karate for over 40 years and was also a member of the National American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Ke-Khee (Day) Greenough of Silver Creek, whom he married on Sept. 4, 1999, in Smith Mills; three brothers: Guy (Beth) Greenough of North East, Pa.; Kevin Greenough of Forestville; Keith Greenough of Forestville; sister-in-law Kelly (Tom) Wetzel of Baltimore, MD; and brother-in-law Chip Day of Phoeniz, AZ. Also surviving are five nephews: Paul, Matthew and Michael Greenough, Thomas Wetzel Jr. and Mathew Wetzel.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Rodney P. Greenough.

Friends are welcome to call at Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main St., Forestville, on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1 p.m. from Christ Chapel Wesleyan Church, 60 Buffalo St., Silver Creek, with the Rev. James Witherington Jr., Hospice Chaplain, officiating. Interment will follow in Smith Mills Cemetery, town of Hanover. Graveside military services will be conducted by members of J. Carter Knapp American Legion Post No. 953, Forestville.
