Eugene L. “Gene” Capron

Eugene L. “Gene” Capron, 77, of Greenwood Drive, Town of Napoli, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017, at the UPMC-WCA Chautauqua Hospital in Jamestown.

He was born June 14, 1939, in the Town of Coldspring, N.Y., the son of the late Robert and Carrie Bliss Case. Gene was a 1958 graduate of Cattaraugus Central School.

He retired from A & D Engels in West Valley, where he had been a milk-hauler. Previously he had worked for the James Fralick Dairy Farm as a crop specialist, Mecca Farms for 32 years, Whitworth Farms for 11 Years, both of Florida. He was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Judith “Judy” Rounds Capron; four daughters: Faith (Ransom Sr.) Felt of Randolph, Cassie Capron of Alabama, Bree Brown of Lakeworth, Fla., and Brigetta (Richard Sr.) Borkowski of Cattaraugus; two brothers: Thomas Case of Maryland and Jerry Case of Fredonia; five grandchildren: Wesley, Sara, Angela, Ransom and Tyler; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia Folts; and second wife, Gretchen Haller; and a brother Bob Case.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday (May 27, 2017) in the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church St., Randolph. The family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service at 2 p.m. The Rev. W. Mike Trenchard will officiate. Burial will be in the Park Lawn Cemetery, Wesley, NY.
