Anita T. “Nettie” Larson

Anita T. “Nettie” Larson, 88, of Hultquist Place, formerly of Hotchkiss Street, Jamestown, passed away Thursday (May 18, 2017) in the Lutheran Home.

A lifelong area resident, she was born Sept. 9, 1928, in Falconer, the daughter of the late Frank and Concetta Salamone Augusta.

Nettie attended Falconer High School, and in earlier years was employed by National Worsted Mills.

She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church of Holy Apostles Parish and had served as special minister of the eucharist. Nettie was also a member of the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club and the Club Girls.

Nettie enjoyed ceramics and caring for her sisters and neighbors. She was a dedicated homemaker.

Surviving are two sons: Gordon Daniel Larson and his wife, Dolly of Bochum, Germany, and John G. Larson of Williamsville, N.Y.; two grandsons: Connor Larson and Ryan Larson, both of Amherst, N.Y.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon W. Larson, whom she married Nov. 23, 1950, and who died May 12, 2014; a grandson, William Gordon Larson; two brothers: Dominic and Sam Augusta; and three sisters: Constance Augusta, Frances Augusta and Beatrice Gunsay.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. John’s Catholic Church of Holy Apostles Parish. The Rev. Dennis Mende, pastor of Holy Apostles Parish, will be celebrant. The Rev. Dan Rumfelt, chaplain of Lutheran Home will also officate. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday in the Falconer Funeral Home. A Christian Wake service will be held at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
