Ward E. Knopf

Ward E. Knopf, 82, of Russell, Pa., passed away following a brief illness on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at the St. Vincent Health Center of Erie, Pa.

Ward was born Nov. 13, 1934, in Warren, Pa., the son of the late Ward E. and Gladys E. Munson Knopf Sr. Ward graduated High School in Sugar Grove and the served two years in the U.S. Army. He was employed at Larimer and Norto in Akeley for six years, and then Carborundum / Monofrax Plant in Falconer, N.Y., for 31 years from which he retired. He was a man of God and a member of Praise Fellowship in Russell. Ward enjoyed bowling, walking about in Russell, and visiting with many. Ward especially enjoyed his family.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Gloria J. Michael Knopf, whom he married on July 14, 1962; one daughter, Laura A. Knopf of Warren; one son, Kevin A. Knopf and his wife, Amy of Warren, Pa.; a granddaughter, Victoria Brecht; one brother, Robert Knopf of Russell, one half sister, Gloria Brix of Perrysville, Md.; two half brothers, Keith Hartley of Russell and Richard Hartley of Sugar Grove; and several nieces and nephews

Friends will be received at Peterson – Blick Funeral Home, Inc, 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, Pa., on Sunday, March 5, from 6-8 p.m.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, March 6 at Praise! Fellowship, 7451 Market St., Russell, Pa., with Rev. Rick Rohlin, pastor, officiating.
