Nan Elizabeth Lyford

Nan Elizabeth Lyford, 103, of the Rouse Home and formerly of the James-town area, passed away Sunday morning, March 19, 2017.

She was born Oct. 14, 1913, in Warren, Ohio, a daughter of the late Lee and Ethel (Jamison) Kirkpatrick. Nan was a store clerk at the former Bigelows Department Store in Jamestown for more than 10 years. She enjoyed spending time gardening, sewing and reading.

Nan is survived by a daughter, Mary (Warren) Moyle of Sugar Hill, Ga.; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann of Knoxville, Tenn.; three grandchildren: Elizabeth Engstrom of Pittsburgh, J. Kyle (Bobbi) Engstrom of Irvine, and Jennifer Starbuck of Monroe, Ga.; her great-grandchildren: Taylor, Morgan, Jamie, Joseph and J. Owen; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Nan was preceded in death by her husband, Albert P. Lyford; a brother, Robert Kirkpatrick; a daughter, Melinda Engstrom; and a son-in-law, J. Dennis.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at 3 p.m., at the Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 314 N. Main St., Youngsville, PA 16371, with the Rev. Marcus Briggs, chaplain of the Rouse Home, officiating. Burial will take place in Rynn Farm Cemetery in Rouseville, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Friends of the Rouse, 701 Rouse Ave., Youngsville, PA 16371.
