Kathy Jean (Webster) Van Dyk

Kathy Jean (Webster) Van Dyk of Middle Grove, N.Y., passed away early morning on Monday, March 13, 2017, at the age of 58 – entirely too soon. She was born Oct. 5, 1958, in Jamestown, N.Y.

Daughter of Eugene and Nancy Webster of Warren, Pa., and “Mom,” Connie Van Dyk of Greenfield Center, N.Y. Sister of Kim (Gene) Olofson of Jamestown, N.Y., Kevin (Bonnie) Webster of Warren, Pa., Kris Webster of Virginia Beach, Va., Dan (Brenda) Webster of Warren, Pa., and “sister,” Lou Ann (Chuck) Gadsby of Warren, Pa.

Kathy left this world with the same gentle grace and strength with which she lived her life, and to the end, continued to place the needs and feelings of those around her above her own. Kathy’s passing leaves an empty place – a desire for just a bit more Kath–as well as an abundance of wonderful memories: those of love and laughter, joy and laughter, hugs and laughter… of Kathy. She taught us all what it is to love unconditionally.

Kathy’s faith in God and her savior, Jesus Christ was strong and well-grounded, she lived her faith each day through her love and com-passion for others.

Kathy grew up in Warren, Pa., and was a member of Covenant Church, where she was active in the youth group and a wonderful choral group. She graduated from Warren Area High School in 1976, and was a U.S. Navy veteran. Kathy raised a husband (her soul-mate, Steve whom she met in the Navy and married Oct. 1, 1983), and three beautiful children in their love-filled Middle Grove, N.Y. home.

She worked for years in the office of Doheny Oil, and finished her career as office manager for the gracious folks of Cottrell Paper Co. Kathy was an active member of the Middle Grove United Methodist Church, giving of her time as a Sunday school teacher, choir director, and church treasurer. She was an environmentalist, a minimalist and a caretaker for everyone.

Above all, Kathy shone as a devoted wife and mother, a loving sister and daughter and a kind and gentle friend to those who shared her path. A piece of her lives on in her husband, Steve, in each of her children: Benjamin Alan-32, Kali Jean-28 and Evan Marie-27, all of Middle Grove, N.Y.; and her parents, sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews, and all those who are blessed to have known her.

Kathy’s wish would be for you to make on-going donations of kindness and understanding to your friends, family and neigh-bors – to be a blessing to others and make a difference!

A luncheon to celebrate Kathy’s life will be held at the Allegheny Community Center at 42 Clark St., Warren, Pa., on Saturday April 1, from noon-4 p.m. Join us in celebrating Kathy’s legacy of love, compassion, passion, laughter, joy and hugs! We look forward to sharing in your special memories as well.

She said, “Mom, I have peace, I know where I’m going.”

Kathy was one of the ‘Good Ones.’ We will miss you deeply Kath, but we have comfort and as-surance, knowing we’ll be together again in God’s time.

Love you forever.
