June M. Ferguson

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — June M. Ferguson, 75, of South Bend, Ind., and formerly of Westfield, N.Y., died Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at The Inn at St. Paul’s, in South Bend, Ind.

She was born June 27, 1941, in Fairview, Pa., the daughter of the late Kenneth and Helen VanGiesen Selden.

June had worked for Chautauqua County Department of Social Services in Child Protective Services.

After her retirement, she moved to South Bend, Ind., where she was passionate about community service and volunteered for many organizations. She loved to spend time working in the garden, doing word search puzzles, and most of all to be with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by a daughter, Rebecca (Christopher) Quirk of South Bend; one son, Scott Ferguson; two granddaughters, Angelica and Emily Quirk; and two sister in-laws, Priscilla Ferguson Stallsmith and Thea Ferguson Watkins, both of Westfield, N.Y.

June was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Hammond Ferguson, whom she married Dec. 21, 1969; a brother, Robert Selden; and a sister, Shirleyann Dalrymple.

A springtime burial in Westfield Cemetery, N.Y., will be held at the convenience of the family.
