Robert C. Andrews

Robert C. Andrews, 85, of Jamestown, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017, at Heritage Village Rehab & Skilled Nursing.

He was born Feb. 20, 1931, in Wyoming, Pa., the son of the late Charles and Hazel Totten Andrews.

Robert was a veteran of the U.\S. Army serving during the Korean conflict. He worked at Crawford Furniture for 21 years.

He was a former member of the Jamestown Free Methodist Church, where he served as a board member, trustee, a Sunday school teacher, and as a lay pastor.

Robert was a wise man with a great sense of humor. He was an avid gardener and he enjoyed his flower gardens and landscaping around his home. He loved and enjoyed his family and friends which was evident through his sharing of his many talents. He was considered a jack of all trades.

He is survived by two sons: Ronald Andrews of Falconer, N.Y., and Sheldon Millard of Whiting, N.J.; two daughters: Elizabeth “Betty” Sundquist of Jamestown, N.Y., and Dorothy (Dail) Swanson of Escondido, Calif; 11 grandchildren; 13 great- grandchildren; a sister, Betty Bastis and a brother, Thomas Andrews, both of Wyoming, Pa.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elizabeth German Andrews, whom he married July 11, 1957, and who passed away on May 12, 2014; two brothers: Carl and Donald Andrews; one sister: Dorothy Marquitz; and a son-in-law, Paul “Pete” Sundquist.

As per Robert’s wishes there will be no funeral service or visitation. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of his family.

Inurnment will be in Lake View Cemetery, Jamestown.
