Raymond W. Wiltsie

Raymond W. Wiltsie, 86, of Frewsburg, died Monday (Feb. 20. 2017) at his home.

He was born Dec. 6, 1930, in Fentonville, the son of J. Clark and Annie Lowery Wiltsie.

Along with his wife he had owned and operated a dairy farm for many years as well as driving bus for Frewsburg Central School. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War.

Ray was a member of Wheeler Hill Church, Koinonia of Jamestown, Kennedy Grange, Chaut. County Holstein Club, Brokenstraw Tractor Club, Chaut. County Beekeepers Club, and the Circling Squares.

He had played drums since high school and still played in local bands. He enjoyed square dancing, wood carving, competing in tractor pulls. and beekeeping.

Ray is survived by his wife, Barbara Boe Wiltsie, whom he married Aug. 1, 1954; three children: Shirley (Glenn) Sivertson of Elbow Lake, MN., Randall (Jill) Wiltsie, and Sheila (Ronald) Lemon of Frewsburg; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother: Herbert Wiltsie of Tunkhannock, Pa., and three sisters: Romayne Long and Dorothy Waite of Frewsburg and Margaret Bullock of N. Warren, Pa.

He was predeceased by a brother, Clarence Wiltsie; and a sister: Arlene Jones.

The family would like to offer special thanks to Dr. Rudolph Mueller for the excellent care given to Ray through the years.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg. Pastor Carol Becker and Pastor Ronald Lemon will officiate.

Burial will be in Fentonville Cemetery, Frewsburg.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
