John C. “Jack” Stahley

RANDOLPH — John C. “Jack” Stahley, 79, of Jamestown Street, Randolph, passed away, Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017, at the UPMC Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pa.

He was born Feb. 19, 1937, in Jamestown, the son of the late Clement J. and Mildred (Allen) Stahley.

Jack was a 1957 graduate of Randolph Central School.

He retired from Hopes Windows in Jamestown and had worked for more than 25 years for the Empire State Mutual Life Insurance Company in Jamestown.

Jack was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Randolph, a social member of the Randolph American Legion Post 181, was a charter member of the Randolph Historical Society and was a former member of the Randolph Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge. Jack was a longtime volunteer with Meal on Wheels in Randolph.

He is survived by two sons: John S. (Denise) Stahley and Michael T. Stahley, both of Randolph; a daughter, Lori Stahley- Benson of Randolph; five grandchildren: Corinne Benson Dauphin and husband, Pete of Randolph, Cody Benson, Tyler Stahley, Sarah Stahley and Jillian Stahley, all of Randolph; and two great-grandchildren: Nora and Stevie Dauphin of Randolph.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; his wife. Agnes Scott, whom he married June 23, 1962, in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Randolph; a sister, Carol Hotchkiss; and two brothers: Daniel and Richard Stahley.

As per his wishes, visitation will not be observed.

A private family Mass of Christian Burial was held in the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Janaczek as celebrant.

A graveside committal will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Randolph.
