Elizabeth Marx

Elizabeth Marx, 100 years old, of Lyons, New York, formerly of Brocton, New York, passed away after a short illness on Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 17, 2017, at Wayne County Nursing Home in Lyons New York. Elizabeth was born on Feb. 20, 1916, in Heilwood, Pennsylvania,  and was the daughter of the late Eugenio and Mary Poncetta Bellando. She made her home in this area most of her life. Elizabeth was a retired Production Worker for the Red Wing Co. of Fredonia, New York. She was a member of St. Dominic’s Roman Catholic Church of Brocton and the St. Ann’s Society of Brocton, New York. She also belonged to the Brocton-Portland Senior Citizens Club.  Besides her family, she loved knitting, crocheting and cooking.

Elizabeth is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Marx of Rochester, New York, and Norine Snyder of Lyons, New York; one sister, Mary Presto of Brocton, New York; three grandchildren, Beth (David) Pillion, Eric (Yulia) Snyder and Adam (Aimee) Snyder; five great-grandchildren, Aidan, Ashton, Adam, Logan and Ava. She was predeceased by her husband whom she married on May 13, 1950, and who passed away in 1975; two brothers, Robert Bellando and John Bellando; and two sisters, Thelma Parisio and Rose Bellando.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 21, 2017, at 1 p.m. at St. Dominic’s Roman Catholic Church, 12 Central Ave. in Brocton, New York, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Romeo Hontiveros. Interment will follow at the Portland Evergreen Cemetery.
