Brenda L. Garris
Brenda L. Garris, 72, of 250 Schuyler Street Jamestown, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016.
An area resident since 1971, she was born Aug. 7, 1944, in Bradenville, Pa., one of nine children to James and Anna Baxter Agostino.
Brenda had worked at Tanglewood Manor for 16 years, retiring in 2015. She enjoyed singing, playing guitar, cooking, writing poetry and spending time outdoors. Brenda loved her family and her Lord. She was always a giver.
Surviving are eight children: Ronald E. Garris Jr. (Debra A. Jackson) of Sugar Grove, Pa.; Gay Levitt of Knoxville, TN; Tina Trusso (John Mays) of Jamestown; Lisa Welch (Gary) of Jamestown; Carla Gebhard (Robert) of Randolph; Renee Beardsley (Ed Latta) of Mayville; Tammy Yarber (Chris) of Jamestown; Harvey Hollis (Victoria) of Irvine; 23 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a brother Monroe “Monty” Agostino of Derry, Pa.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald E. Garris Sr.; a son, Alfred Garris; a grandson, Gary Lee Welch III; her longtime companion, Harvey Hollis; four sisters and three brothers.
The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday Dec. 11, 2016, in the Lind Funeral Home. Paul Gebhard, pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Randolph will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
