Lila M. DeBoy Kitzmiller

PANAMA, N.Y. — Lila M. DeBoy Kitzmiller, 89, formerly of Salamanca and West Virginia, passed away, Friday, Nov. 4, 2016 at the Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Center in Greenhurst, town of Ellery, N.Y.

She was born Sept. 2, 1927, in Great Valley, N.Y., the daughter the late Homer and Gladys Williams Butler.

Lila grew up in Great Valley and attended school there. She was a home maker and had worked for both Fancher Furniture and Bush Industries in Salamanca, where she lived for many years. While living in Bayard, W.Va., she had worked as a waitress.

She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She also enjoyed her pets and gardening.

Lila had been a member of the Bayard Church of God in West Virginia, where she taught Sunday school and was very active in many programs there. Moving to Panama, she attended to the Good Shepard Church in Clymer, where she was active in their food pantry ministry.

She is survived by her daughter; Sharon Eggleston and husband, Randy of Panama; two sons: Mike DeBoy and wife, Noreen of Salamanca, and Brian DeBoy and wife, Kathryn of North Ft. Myers, Fla.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Joyce Fellows of Allegany, and Loera Church of Los Angeles, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Kitzmiller, whom she married July 2, 1988, and who preceded her on Oct. 22, 1997; and three brothers: Leland, Duane and Dale Butler.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016, in the VanRensselaer and Son Funeral Home, 14 Church St., Randolph. Funeral services will be held at the Funeral Home at 11 a.m., Wednesday. John Congdon will officiate. Burial will be in the Green Cemetery in Great Valley.
