JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Johnny Nunez Sr., 48, of Jamestown was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree menacing and endangering the welfare of a child. Officers responded Sunday at 2:24 p.m. to a reported weapon complaint on Winsor Street. Three juveniles told officers that Nunez allegedly pulled a knife on an 11-year-old in a threatening manner. Nunez was located a distance away and taken into custody. No one was injured in the incident.

¯ Terrance L. Austin, 60, of Jamestown was charged with third-degree assault. Officers were called Saturday at 8:35 a.m. to West 11th Street for a female with a facial injury. The woman was transported to UPMC Chautauqua for treatment of her injuries. Austin was later found to have recklessly hit the woman. Austin was taken into custody and transported to Jamestown City Jail.

¯ Laverne L. Riley, 38, of Jamestown was charged with two counts of first-degree assault, endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree reckless endangerment. Officers were called Friday at 10 a.m. to 320 Newland Ave. for a reported fight. An investigation found that Riley allegedly used pepper spray on a 5-year-old and two others at the residence. Riley was found a short distance away and allegedly struggled with officers while being taken into custody. Riley was held for arraignment.

¯ Katherine L. Ballard, 66, of Jamestown was charged with driving while intoxicated, second-degree obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and second-degree harassment. Officers responded Saturday at 5:01 p.m. to the area of East Second Street and Foote Avenue for a reported hit-and-run. The victim was able to provide a license plate number, and officers made contact with Ballard at the listed address. Ballard’s vehicle displayed recent damage and she allegedly showed signs of impairment. Ballard reportedly walked away as officers attempted to administer field sobriety tests and also resisted arrest and scratched an officer’s arm. She was held for arraignment.

¯ Mallory C. White, 26, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree harassment and criminal obstruction of breathing/blood circulation. Officers responded Saturday at 11:59 p.m. to 31 Charles St. for a reported intoxicated disorderly female. An investigation found White engaged in a verbal argument that escalated into a physical altercation when she allegedly grabbed the victim by the throat and shoved them into a door. White was transported to Jamestown City Jail without incident.

¯ Stephen J. Abbey, 41, of Jamestown was charged with DWI, failure to submit to a breath test, failure to keep right and parked facing the wrong way. Officers responded Saturday at 9:32 p.m. to the area of Howard Street near Barker Street for a vehicle complaint. Abbey was unable to complete a field sobriety test and was taken into custody. He refused a chemical breath test, and was eventually held for arraignment.

¯ Christopher D. Toole, 42, of Jamestown was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief. Officers were summoned Sunday at 12:30 a.m. to a home on Cole Avenue for a reported domestic dispute. An investigation found that Toole had an active warrant out of the city of Jamestown. He was held for arraignment in city court.
