JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Thomas E. Salverson, 40, of Jamestown was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest. At 1:09 a.m. Friday, officers responded to a Broadhead Avenue residence for a report of an assault in progress. Upon arrival, officers made contact with occupants who had been inside the residence. Once inside, Salverson is alleged to have stood in the doorway and refused the officers entry into the residence. Officers advised Salverson to move but he refused. A brief struggle ensued after which Salverson was taken into custody. The incident occurred in the presence of a 10-year-old child. Salverson was taken to the Jamestown City Jail and arraigned.

LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Willard J. Apperson Jr., 35, of Jamestown was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. At midnight Friday, Apperson was taken into custody by officers following a complaint he was alleged acting suspiciously on Lawson Road. Apperson was issued an appearance ticket and will appear in Busti Town Court at a later date.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ LAKEWOOD — Wyatt A. Mann, 22, of Jamestown was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, unlawful possession of marijuana consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle and inadequate muffler. Deputies stopped a vehicle Saturday at 1:57 a.m. for a traffic violation on Sessions Avenue in Lakewood. Mann was found to be operating the vehicle on a suspended license while allegedly consuming alcohol inside the vehicle. He was also reportedly found with marijuana, cocaine and drug paraphernalia. He was processed and released to appear in Lakewood Village Court at a later date to answer the charges.

¯ POMFRET — Nicole R. Ostrye, 27, of Fredonia was charged with endangering the welfare of a child. Deputies responded Saturday to Woodcrest Avenue in Pomfret for a reported physical domestic incident. An investigation found that Ostrye struck a victim multiple times while the victim was holding a 6-month-old child. Ostrye was taken to Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment.

¯ NORTH HARMONY — Justin Meacham, 37, of Jamestown was taken into custody Saturday at 1:35 p.m. on warrants for fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Coty W. Schauers, 22, of Frewsburg was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, speed in zone and fractured window glass. In a joint effort between members of the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force and the Chautauqua County Sheriffs Office, Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force information was obtained that Meacham was traveling as a passenger in a vehicle on Interstate 86 in the town of North harmony. He was wanted for the sale of a controlled substance. The vehicle was located traveling at a high rate of speed on the interstate. Meacham and Schauers were allegedly located with 27.1 grams of methamphetamine. They were taken to jail for arraignment.

¯ FREDONIA — Jessica M. Tenamore, 34, of Forestville was charged with DWI, DWI per se, refusal to take breath test and failure to exercise due care when passing a stopped, standing or parked emergency vehicle. Deputies were stopped Saturday at 12:40 a.m. for a traffic stop when a passing vehicle struck the patrol car. The driver, identified as Tenamore, reportedly fled the scene but was stopped a short distance later. It was learned that Tenamore was operating the vehicle in an intoxicated state. She was released with appearance tickets to be in Fredonia Village Court at a later date.

¯ DUNKIRK — Yosuam R. Robles, 33, of Dunkirk was charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. Deputies conducted a warrant check Sunday at 1:26 p.m. on Middle Road in the town of Dunkirk. Robles was taken into custody without incident and transported to jail for centralized arraignment.

NEW YORK STATE POLICE

¯ Dylan Hoopsick, 26, of Erie, Pa., was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana. Hoopsick was stopped Wednesday on Interstate 86 in Jamestown for speeding. Troopers reported smelling marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search turned up a bag with 8 grams of cocaine, an unmarked bottle of Adderall pills, an electronic smoking device containing THC oil and a bottle with 28 grams of marijuana. Hoopsick was processed and transported to Chautauqua County Jail.

¯ Daniel Weilacher, 60, of Jamestown was charged with felony driving while intoxicated and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Troopers received a complaint April 2 of a male drinking whiskey in the parking lot of a local business. The vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation on Dutch Hollow Road. Weilacher was taken into custody after failing field sobriety tests and transported to police barracks where he provided a breath sample of .09. A check of his driving history found he had previous DWI conviction in the last 10 years. Weilacher was transported to Chautauqua County Jail.
