CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ POMFRET — Deputies responded Wednesday at 7:32 a.m. to Cummings Road for a report of a vehicle into a tree. Upon arrival it was determined that Hunt was attempting to swerve around a deer that had entered the roadway. Hunt lost control of his vehicle striking a tree. Hunt was examined by Fredonia Fire Department for a leg injury. Hunt was issued a traffic ticket for speed unreasonable and failure to keep right. Hunt will appear in Pomfret Town Court at a later date.

NEW YORK STATE POLICE

¯ Sarah Hallberg, 56, of Lakewood was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated. Troopers responded to a report of a reckless driver Tuesday and stopped the vehicle on Interstate 86 at exit 12 near Jamestown. Hallberg was taken into custody after allegedly failing several field sobriety tests. She was transported to police barracks in Jamestown where she provided a breath sample of .21 percent. Hallberg was issued appearance tickets to be in Ellicott Town Court at a later date.
