¯ Janice Morales, 44, of Dunkirk was charged with fourth-degree welfare fraud, first-degree offering an instrument for filing, misuse of food stamps and fourth-degree grand larceny. Morales was issued appearance tickets after it was alleged that from July 2016 to December 2016 Morales failed to notify the Chautauqua County Department of Health and Human Services that her husband had income/employment while residing with Morales. This unreported income allowed Morales to receive $2,497.00 in unentitled benefits. She is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date.
¯ DEWITTVILLE — Katlin S. Brown, 27, of Dewittville was charged with issuing a bad check. Deputies conducted a warrant check Tuesday at a home in Dewittville. Brown had a warrant for issuing a bad check and was taken to Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment.
¯ BEMUS POINT — Dylan M. Abbey, 26, of Bemus Point was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. Deputies received information that a wanted person was located at a residence Tuesday in Bemus Point. Abbey was located at the residence, and was found to have an active warrant. He was taken into custody and transported to Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment. Abbey will appear in court at a later date to answer the charges.
¯ FRENCH CREEK — Alan K. Miller, 27, of North East, Pa., was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, failure to stop at a stop sign, open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and unlawful possession of marijuana. Deputies observed a vehicle Saturday at 2:26 a.m. that failed to stop at a stop sign in French Creek. Miller was charged following an investigation. He is scheduled to appear in French Creek Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
¯ MAYVILLE — Richard H. McCutcheon, 62, of Ripley was charged with DWI combination of drugs/alcohol, expired inspection and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle. Deputies observed a vehicle Thursday at 11:30 a.m. with an expired inspection sticker. McCutcheon was determined to be impaired by a combination of drugs and alcohol. He was also found to be consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle. McCutcheon is scheduled to appear in Chautauqua Town Court at a later date.
