Police: Westfield Man Attempted To Sell Gun

STOW — Assault rifles and drugs do not mix, a Westfield man learned on Monday afternoon.

Around 2 p.m., the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force arrested David M. Marracino, 57,of 7758 Prospect Station Road on charges of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree criminal sale of a weapon as well as unlawful possession of marijuana.

It is alleged that Marracino did possess and then sell an assault rifle to an undercover officer of the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force. Officers say Marracino sold the AR-15 style assault rifle, three high capacity magazines and quantity of steel jacketed ammunition to the undercover officer at 3503 Old Bridge Road. When Marracino was taken into custody he was found to also be in possession of a quantity of marijuana.

He was arraigned and then remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail on bail pending further action of the court.

The Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force is comprised of investigators from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and the city of Dunkirk Police Department.
