CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
¯ POMFRET — Julia A. Anello, 37, of Dunkirk was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Deputies stopped a car in Pomfret on Sept. 2 for a traffic violation. Following an investigation, it was found that Anello was allegedly driving while under the influence of drugs. She is scheduled to appear in Pomfret Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
¯ SHERMAN — Christian S. Cooper, 18, of Sherman was charged with driving while intoxicated and DWI per se. Deputies stopped a vehicle on Bailey Hill Road in Sherman for speeding on Sunday. Cooper was later found to be operating the vehicle in an intoxicated condition. She will appear in Sherman Town Court at a later date.
¯ Nancy L. Simmons, 69, of Ripley was charged with four counts of offering a false instrument for filing, third-degree grand larceny, third-degree welfare fraud and misuse of food stamps. Simmons was issued appearance tickets Thursday after it was alleged that from April 2014 to December 2015 she failed to notify the county of income within her home. This allowed her to collect$3,386 in SNAP/food stamp benefits. She is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date.
¯ Daryl L. Sanders, 45, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree criminal contempt and aggravated family offense. Jamestown police were called to the Woodlawn Apartments on Monday for a neighbor dispute. It was found that Sanders was violating a valid order of protection and had a previous conviction for a domestic offense. He was taken into custody and held without bail until he was in court.
¯ GLADE TWP — Ivar Hudson, 19, of Warren, Pa., was charged with driving under the influence — view drugs. State police stopped a vehicle on Aug. 9 on Jackson Avenue at Hohman Road in Glade Township, Pa. Hudson told troopers he had smoked marijuana prior to driving. Troopers discovered he was allegedly under the influence and committed multiple traffic violations. The investigation remains ongoing pending further investigation.
NEW YORK STATE POLICE
¯ Mary Waechter, 60, of Gerry was taken into custody Thursday on a bench warrant from Ellicott Town Court. The warrant was for failing to appear in court for driving while intoxicated and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Salamanca City Police were releasing Waechter from their custody for an unrelated charge. Waechter was taken into state police custody at the Salamanca Police Department and arraigned in Carroll Town Court. Waechter was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail and is scheduled to appear in court later in the month.
¯ Derek Large, 29, of Randolph was charged Sept. 8 with unlawful possession of marijuana after he was pulled over on Interstate 86 in Jamestown for a traffic violation. Troopers report that while speaking to Large, troopers smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle and found one marijuana cigarette in the vehicle. Large will be in Ellicott Town Court later.
¯ Benjamin Finch, 28, of Salamanca was charged with second-degree harassment on Sept. 9 after allegedly leaving several voicemails threatening a person’s life and the life of one of the person’s family members. Finch was charged and will be in Napoli Town Court later.
¯ SHERMAN — Tyler Yohe, 29, of Bradford was charged Monday with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after he was pulled over on Interstate 86 in Sherman for a traffic violation. A check of Yohe’s driver’s license showed he was wanted by the Erie County Sheriff’s Department. Yohe was then taken into custody and, while being searched, was allegedly in possession of a suboxone strip. Yohe was processed at the State Police barracks at Jamestown, given appearance tickets to be in Sherman Town Court and turned over to the Erie County Sheriff’s Department.
