CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
¯ MINA — Rachel E. James, 21, of Findley Lake was charged with driving while intoxicated-drugs, failure to keep right and moving from lane unsafely. Deputies were dispatched to Route 426 at Route 430 in the town of Mina to assist Pennsylvania State Police. An investigation found that James was operating her car while under the influence of drugs. She was taken into custody for processing and released to appear in Mina Town Court at a later date.
¯ STOCKTON — Joshua J. Burke, 30, of Stockton was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Deputies investigated a suspicious situation on Thursday on Cassadaga-Stockton Road in Stockton. It was found that Burke was allegedly operating a car and ran out of fuel. During a check, his license was found to be suspended for an alcohol-related offense. He was issued an appearance ticket to be in Stockton Town Court at a later date.
¯ SILVER CREEK — Jeremiah C. Haas, 40, of Silver Creek was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Deputies responded to a warrant check at the Village Inn in Silver Creek on July 28. Haas was wanted on a warrant out of Jamestown. Haas was found and taken into custody, at which time he was allegedly found with a small container with a rock-like substance determined to be methamphetamine. Haas will appear in Silver Creek Town Court at a later date.
¯ FRENCH CREEK — Kathleen Pytlars, 60, was charged with theft of service. Deputies were called to Peek’n Peak for an unwanted person Friday who had charged $763.73 in goods and services to her room. After being unable to pay her bill, Pytlars was taken into custody and issued an appearance ticket to be in French Creek Town Court at a later date.
¯ MAYVILLE — Brandon E. Newby, 31, of Sherman was charged with second-degree burglary, petit larceny, three counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument. Newby was charged after an incident at an apartment in Mayville on Thursday. He was taken into custody and remanded to Chautauqua County Jail.
NEW YORK STATE POLICE
¯ GERRY — Duane Sikes, 49, of Jamestown was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Troopers stopped a vehicle Saturday on Route 60 in Gerry for a traffic violation. Sikes, a passenger in the vehicle, was reportedly found in possession of five marijuana cigarettes and a bag containing marijuana. Sikes was issued an appearance ticket to be in Gerry Town Court at a later date.
