Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Vehicle Damaged During Pursuit
LEON — A Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Dept. vehicle was damaged Sunday as deputies tried to pull a vehicle over in Leon at 1:30 p.m.
The incident began when deputies tried to interview Brian S. McGonagle, 25, of 608 Southside Ave., Cherry Creek, after a short traffic pursuit in South Dayton with a vehicle McGonagle was riding in at the time. Detectives approached the vehicle McGonagle was in when Kristy L. Forsburg, 24, of 4968 Waterboro Hill Road, Conewango Valley, allegedly fled the scene. Detectives chased the vehicle for a short time before they were able to box the vehicle in. When the vehicle was surrounded, Fosburg allegedly put her vehicle into reverse and hit an unmarked Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Dept. vehicle.
McGonagle was charged by the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force for an Oct. 26 incident in which McGonagle allegedly sold methampetamine to another person. He was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony, and fifth-degree crimimal sale of a controlled substance, a class D felony, for the October 26 incident and was additionally charged with a second count of criminal possession of a controlled substance after detectives allegedly found methamphetamine on McGonagle when he was charged.
Fosburg was issued several traffic tickets. Both Fosburg and McGonagle were arraigned in South Dayton Village Court. McGonagle was taken to the Cattaraugus County Jail on $15,000 bail. Fosburg was taken to the Cattaraugus County Jail on $250 bail.
