LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Luz Elena Berrios-Ramos, 52, of Lakewood was charged with petit larceny and endangering the welfare of a child. Police said Berrios-Ramos allegedly under-rang $36.26 in merchandise while at Walmart on Thursday. Berrios-Ramos was later released with appearance tickets.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ MAYVILLE — Eric Courtier, 28, of Mayville, and Page Zenns, 21, of Mayville, were both charged with second-degree burglary, fourth-degree criminal mischief and two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Deputies responded Thursday to a Valley Street home in Mayville for a reported burglary. An investigation found Courtier and Zenns were in the home without permission and had damaged property. The pair was found in possession of heroin and methamphetamine. They were transported to Chautauqua Town Court and remanded to Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail.

¯ CHAUTAUQUA — Michael Shanahan, 63, of Silver Creek was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Deputies responded Wednesday to Hartfield Centralia Road in Chautauqua for a vehicle in a ditch. Deputies spoke to Shanahan, who said he was attempting to exit a driveway and entered the ditch when trying to avoid a parked vehicle. He later admitted to being in possession of cocaine. Shanahan was issued an appearance ticket to be in Chautauqua Town Court.

NEW YORK STATE POLICE

¯ SALAMANCA — Mitchell L. Cross, 31, of Great Valley was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and unlawful possession of marijuana. During a traffic stop Friday in Salamanca, troopers detected an odor of marijuana coming from Cross’ vehicle. Troopers also found unprescribed suboxone in the car. Cross was released with appearance tickets to be in Salamanca City Court at a later date.
