WESTFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Danica M. Lakari, 41, of Erie, Pa., was charged with speed in zone, driving while intoxicated and driving with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or more. Lakari was observed at 4:35 p.m. on June 10 driving at a high rate of speed on West Main Street in Westfield. Officers were able to catch up with the vehicle on North Portage Street where it allegedly jumped the curb and came to rest. Lakari was later found to be intoxicated and transported to the police department. Lakari was issued traffic tickets to be in court at a later date.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ MAYVILLE — Tyler N. Tedesco, 22, of Mayville was charged with second-degree obstruction of governmental administration. Deputies located Tedesco Thursday at 3:40 a.m. in the village of Mayville and was found to have a warrant for criminal mischief from Jamestown City Court. When deputies attempted to take him into custody, Tedesco reportedly fled into his apartment. He then allegedly fled from the apartment and through some nearby yards. Tedesco was located a short time later and taken into custody. He also later was found to have a warrant for possession of a controlled substance in Pinellas County in Florida. He was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.

¯ SILVER CREEK — Rachael A. Wilson, 40, of North Collins was charged with petit larceny. Deputies responded May 28 to a reported larceny of a wallet from a business in the village of Silver Creek. An investigation found Wilson allegedly removed the wallet from the store without permission. Wilson was issued an appearance ticket to be in Silver Creek Village Court at a later date.

CATTARAUGUS COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ OLEAN — Shaun D. Costa, 34, was charged with fifth-degree welfare fraud. Deputies looked into a complaint from the Cattaraugus County Department of Social Services of suspected welfare fraud. Costa was taken into custody at Olean City Court. An investigation found Costa allegedly failed to report income to social services and fraudulently receiving $362 in public assistance. Costa was already incarcerated at the Cattaraugus County Jail on unrelated matters. He will appear back in court on the new charge at a later date.
