NEW YORK STATE POLICE

¯ BUSTI — Thomas Fox, 30, of Jamestown was charged Wednesday with unlawful possession of marijuana. Fox was stopped on Busti-Sugar Road for a traffic violation. Troopers reported could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle. Fox was issued an appearance ticket to be in Busti Town Court at a later date.

¯ FREWSBURG — David Rublee, 66, of Frewsburg was charged with driving while intoxicated. Troopers were patrolling Frew Run Road in Frewsburg Thursday when they came across a vehicle in the ditch. Rublee was taken into custody after reportedly failing several field sobriety tests. He was transported to Jamestown police barracks where he provided a breath sample of .09 percent. He was issued an appearance ticket to be in Carroll Town Court at a later date. Rublee was uninjured in the crash.

¯ FREWSBURG — Amanda Burnham, 35, of Frewsburg was charged with driving while intoxicated. Burnham was stopped Friday for a traffic violation on West Main Street in Frewsburg and was taken into custody after reportedly failing several field sobriety tests. Burnham provided a breath sample of .15 percent. She was processed, issued tickets to Carroll Town Court and released. Burnham is scheduled to appear in court at a later date later this month.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTYSHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ CARROLL — Jack E. Smith, 21, of Frewsburg was charged with two counts of second-degree criminal contempt and criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation. Deputies responded to a 911 call Monday to an address on West Main Street in Carroll. Deputies found a female victim that had allegedly been choked by Smith. The victim and anther woman were found have valid orders of protection for Smith to stay away from them. Smith allegedly fled the residence prior to the arrival of deputies. An arrest warrant was obtained, and Smith was taken into custody Tuesday by Carroll Town Police. He was arraigned and remanded to Chautauqua County Jail. He is scheduled to appear back in court at a later date.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Richard C. Becker Sr., 45, of Jamestown was charged with first-degree criminal contempt. Officers responded at 11:30 p.m. Saturday to a Beverly Place address for a domestic incident involving two people. Police learned Becker allegedly shoved a 21-year-old male into a door and made threatening comments, which violated a valid order of protection. Becker was taken into custody and transported to Jamestown City Jail to await arraignment.
