State Police Release New Info After Body Found
PORTLAND — The New York State Police is asking the public’s assistance in its ongoing investigation into the death of a man found in the town of Portland last month.
The man, 47-year-old Brian Heyden, was discovered April 21 around 3:20 p.m. by a passerby in a wooded area off Route 20. State police said Heyden was homeless at the time of his death, which has been deemed suspicious.
On Friday, police said Heyden received a ride from a motorist on April 20, the day prior to his death.
“It is believed Mr. Heyden was picked up on Route 20 in the village of Fredonia and traveled west on Route 20 in a white or light colored pickup truck,” state police said in a press release.
Anyone with information regarding the motorist or of Heyden’s death is asked to call the New York State Police at 665-3114 or email information to firstname.lastname@example.org.
