CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
CARROLL — Robert L. Houghwot Jr., 43, of South Valley, was charged with felony driving while intoxicated, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, operating a motor vehicle with a BAC or high, operating a motor vehicle without an interlock device, unlicensed operation and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Deputies stopped a vehicle at 9:10 p.m. Friday on Frew Run Road in the town of Carroll. The vehicle was reported to be involved in an altercation earlier in the evening. An investigation determined Houghwot was driving in an intoxicated state and had previous DWI convictions. He was taken into custody and remanded to Chautauqua County Jail on pre-arraignment bail. He will appear in Carroll Town Court at a later date.
¯ SHERMAN — Joseph F. Kubasik Jr., 62, was charged with felony DWI with a conviction in the last 10 years, aggravated DWI, aggravated unlicensed operation and improper or unsafe turn without signal. Deputies observed a vehicle make an improper turn at 11:53 p.m. on Friday in the village of Sherman. Kubasik was found to be intoxicated and was taken into custody. He was arraigned in Sherman Town Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.
¯ Denise Jackson, 48, of South Dayton was charged Saturday with driving while intoxicated, refusal to take breath screening test, failure to keep right and unlawful possession of marijuana. Police responded to a report of an unresponsive female in a vehicle in the roadway on Prospect Street in Forestville. She was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail on pre-arraignment bail.
