NEW YORK STATE POLICE

¯ Ruben Vargas, 37, of Jamestown was charged with felony driving while intoxicated after he was pulled over while driving east on Interstate 86 in Angelica on Sunday after troopers reported seeing Vargas’ vehicle commit several vehicle and traffic violations. Troopers report smelling the odor of an alcoholic beverage in the vehicle before Vargas allegedly failed several field sobriety tests. Vargas was taken to the State Police barracks at Amity for processing, where he reportedly recorded a .17 percent blood-alcohol content. Due to a prior DWI conviction, Vargas was charged with a felony. He was arraigned in Friendship Town Court and taken to the Allegany County Jail in lieu of $300 cash bail or $600 bond. He will be in Angelica Town Court later.

CATTARAUGUS COUNTY SHERIFF

¯ RANDOLPH — Monty R. Shields, 46, of Randolph was charged with failure to keep right, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, DWI and aggravated DWI after a motor vehicle accident at 2:12 a.m. Monday on Route 394 in Randolph. Deputies responded to a report of a suspicious person and found Shields had been involved in a car accident. He was charged and released on his own recognizance to be in Randolph Town Court later.

¯ Bruce J. Scroxton, 54, of Bemus Point was charged with driving while intoxicated and DWI with a blood-alcohol content of .08 percent at 1:04 a.m. Sunday on Plum Creek Road, Mansfield. Deputies were investigating an alarm call on Plum Creek Road and report seeing Scroxton’s vehicle on Plum Creek Road. Deputies say Scroxton showed signs of intoxication. He was released on his own recognizance and will be in Mansfield Town Court later.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF

¯ POMFRET — Gregory E. Mcdannel 28, of Russell, Pa., was charged with insufficient tail lamps, unlicensed operator, improper plates, operating without insurance, unregistered motor vehicle and unlawful possession of marijuana at 2:14 a.m. Saturday after he was pulled over on Route 60 in Pomfret. Deputies pulled the vehicle over for a traffic infraction and found Mcdannel did not have a driver’s license and that there were improper license plates on the vehicle. Mcdannel will be in Pomfret Town Court later.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯Shaina Love, 27, of Jamestown was charged with two acts of endangering the welfare of a child, fourth degree criminal mischief and second degree harassment on April 15. Officers responded to a residence on the west side of the city for a reported domestic dispute. Officers determined that Love engaged in a domestic dispute in the presence of two children ages 3 and 7. Love allegedly struck a male victim in the head and damaged property. She was transported to Jamestown City Jail where she await arraignment.

LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯Chelsea J. Hardwick, 20, of Ashville was charged with petit larceny April 15. Hardwick allegedly stole a cell phone case by removing it from the plastic package inside the Lakewood Walmart. She was issued an appearance ticket and released.
