Falconer Man Charged With DWI After Crashing Into Pole
A Falconer man is facing drunken driving charges after reportedly running over a tree and crashing into a utility pole, the Jamestown Police Department said.
Officers responded around 5 p.m. Tuesday to a report of a single-car crash in the area of 457 Camp St. Officers learned the driver — identified as 31-year-old Darren M. Thompson — had left the road before crashing into the pole.
Thompson was uninjured in the crash, Jamestown police said Wednesday in a press release.
An investigation found that Thompson was allegedly driving while under the influence and in possession of clonazepam pills. He was taken into custody and charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and failure to keep right.
The city man was transported to Jamestown City Jail and held pending arraignment in court, Jamestown police said.
