City Man Found With Crystal Meth During Traffic Stop

A Jamestown man was jailed Wednesday after he was found with crystal methamphetamine, the Jamestown Police Department said.

Jeremy S. Gross, 30, was taken into custody after he was observed around 6:30 p.m. by police exiting a Delaware Avenue residence he was ordered to stay away from due to an order of protection. Gross was seen getting into a taxi in front of the residence.

Police stopped the taxi for a traffic violation, and an investigation found Gross was in possession of 3.9 grams of crystal methamphetamine, which he allegedly attempted to dispose while in the car.

The Jamestown man was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminal contempt. He was taken to the Jamestown City Jail to be arraigned.

Jamestown police asked anyone with information regarding the sale or trafficking of illegal narcotics to call 483-TIPS (8477) or contact police through the Tips 411 cellphone app. All tips are kept confidential.
