JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ David E. Brown III, 27, of Jamestown, was charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration, unlawful possession of marijuana, unlicensed driver, failure to signal and failure to stop at a stop sign. Officers observed a black SUV on Friday around 11:30 p.m. run a stop sign at Sturges and Falconer streets. Brown allegedly fled the SUV on foot and was found to have ran into a residence on Prendergast Avenue. He was taken into custody without incident and found to have active warrants out of Chautauqua County Court. Brown was being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ WESTFIELD — Joseph R. Thuman, 20, of South Dayton, was charged with three counts of sexual abuse. The Chautauqua and Cattaraugus sheriff offices conducted a joint investigation into alleged suspicious activities in both counties, and determined that Thuman allegedly engaged in a sexual relationship with an underage female on various dates in December 2017. Thuman was taken into custody and is scheduled to appear in Westfield Town Court at a later date.

¯ MAYVILLE — Donald A. Baker, 59, no address, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Deputies saw a vehicle parked behind a business on South Erie Street in Mayville around 3:45 a.m. on Saturday. Baker was allegedly found with multiple dosages of suboxone. She was issued appearance tickets to be in Chautauqua Town Court at a later date.

¯ HARMONY — Eric W. Sohl, 43, of Frewsburg was charged at 2:42 p.m. Sunday with two counts of fourth-degree stalking after a report of ongoing harassment and unwanted contact. Deputies found Sohl had allegedly initiated contact with someone from December through March after being told to end such contact. A warrant was issued and Sohl was arrested. He was arraigned in North Harmony Town Court on behalf of the Harmony Town Court and was taken to the Chautauqua County Jail on $1,000 bail.

¯ CASSADAGA — An 18-year-old Cassadaga youth and an 18-year-old Fredonia youth were charged with unlawful possession of marijuana at 12:47 a.m. Sunday on North Main Street, Cassadaga after deputies checked on a suspicious vehicle. Deputies report smelling marijuana coming from the vehicle. The youths will be in Stockton Town Court later.

ELLICOTT POLICE

¯ CELORON — Crystal Lamere, 36, of Jamestown, was charged with second-degree menacing at 6 p.m. Friday. Ellicott and Lakewood-Busti police responded to a reported disturbance in Celoron during which Lamere allegedly threatened to stab several people with a knife. Lamere was charged, arraigned in Ellicott Town Court and taken to the Chautauqua County Jail.

¯ Nicholas J. Swan, 27, of Romeo, Mich., was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to keep right, moving from lane unsafely and driving while ability impaired by drugs and alcohol combined at 11:38 p.m. Saturday after Ellicott police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Route 380 in Ellicott. Police report Swan failed a chemical breath test and a drug evaluation. He will be in Ellicott Town Court later.

¯ Neal C. Halliday, 51, of Allegany was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and no tail lamps at 4:30 a.m. Saturday after a traffic stop. Halliday was allegedly in possession of marijuana and methamphetamine and police report finding several marijuana and methampetamine pipes inside the car. Halliday will be in Ellicott Town Court later.
