City Pair Charged With Larceny, Drug Possession
Two Jamestown women are facing charges after police said they attempted to steal merchandise from Walmart while in possession of drugs and in the presence of a child.
Charged were 45-year-old Tonya M. Diblasi and 44-year-old Dawn C. O’Shell after officers from the Lakewood-Busti Police Department were summoned to the 350 E. Fairmount Ave. store around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. Police located both women, who were allegedly attempting to steal merchandise when they arrived.
Diblasi was reportedly found in possession of “multiple controlled substances,” Lakewood-Busti police said in a press release. A young child also was with the Jamestown woman when the incident occurred.
Diblasi was charged with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of controlled substance outside user’s original container, unlawful possession of marijuana, endangering the welfare of a child and petit larceny.
Police said O’Shell was also allegedly stealing merchandise in the Tuesday incident while in possession of marijuana. She was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, petit larceny and unlawful possession of marijuana.
Both women were issued appearance tickets to be in Busti Town Court at a later date.
