Bemus Point Man Charged After Striking Semi

ELLERY — A Bemus Point man was charged Wednesday after striking a tractor-trailer on Interstate 86 in the town of Ellery.

Troopers charged Jonathan Telschow, 20, after responding to the Southern Tier Expressway around 2:15 p.m. State police said Telschow and the semi, driven by Warren Laurendeau, of Bellows Falls, Vt., were both westbound when the crash occurred.

No injuries were reported, Capt. Eric Balon of the New York State Police said.

Telschow was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, driving on bald tires, moving from lane unsafely, speed not reasonable for conditions and unlawful possession of marijuana. He was taken to UPMC Chautauqua WCA for blood testing, police said.
